Dr. Wendel is double boarded in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology (IR) and has been practicing since 2012. A native of Indiana, he attended Indiana University where he played collegiate baseball before attending Miami University. After graduating and working as an engineer, he decided to follow his calling and pursue medicine. He went to medical school at UAMS in Little Rock, AR, before becoming one of the first direct IR pathway residents and graduates in the country. Pain management has been part of his training and practice, which he continued after moving to Jonesboro in 2012.
Dr. Heberlein is double boarded in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology (IR) and has been practicing since 2007. A native of Southern Germany, he graduated from Heidelberg University, one of Europe’s top-ranked medical schools. After training in France, England and Germany, he chose IR-subspecialty training at UAMS, Little Rock, AR in 2006. While re-certifying his boards in the US and climbing the academic ranks to associate professor, he performed research on novel technologies in the treatment of pancreatic cancer — funded with a research scholar grant from the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA). He rejoined his former colleague, Dr. Wendel, in Jonesboro in 2014 to practice IR and pain management.
